Volunteer Edmonton is thrilled to be hosting the third annual Festival Volunteer Fair!
Last year's event saw more than 500 folks sign up to help out, but with the support of Bottom Line Productions to help us maximize our media coverage and an increased budget this year, our goal is to have many more Edmontonians coming through the door and signing up to volunteer!
We hope to have a number of diverse and exciting festivals showcasing their volunteer opportunities to Edmontonians.
Where: The City Room at City Hall, (1 Sir Winston Churchill Square)
When: Wednesday, May 12 from 11 am to 7 pm
Cost: Thanks to our supporters, there will be NO CHARGE to participate! It's our way of helping to make your volunteer recruitment easier!
*Applications are first-come, first-serve, and will be based on the criteria below.
**If you qualify, we will notify you via email with further details. If for some reason your organization does not meet the criteria, you will be notified with an explanation as to why your festival/event is ineligible to participate.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
In order to participate in the Festival Volunteer Fair, organizations must meet certain eligibility criteria.
1. Your organization is eligible (not necessary for you to have ever applied or received funding, but you must be ELIGIBLE) for support through the City of Edmonton Community Investment Program Grant, which includes the:
- Festival Operating grant
- Festival Seed grant
- Celebrations grant
2. Organizations must also be:
- A nonprofit society that has been registered as a nonprofit society for at least one year.
- Planning to produce a festival, one-day celebratory event and/or major parade within the corporate limits of the City of Edmonton in 2010/2011.
- A festival, one-day celebratory event and/or major parade that must be a celebration of some theme of interest and appeal to the general public, have predetermined opening and closing dates and have an obvious presence in the community.
